Cross Country Banner Year Highlights

Independence Cross Country had a “Banner Year”

“This was a banner year for Independence High School Cross Country,” according to Jerry Hermann, the Head Coach for the program.  He continued, “We had more runners begin and finish the season than ever before. We had a good group of dedicated veteran runners who helped pull many of the younger runners through the season. Both the boys and girls teams finished with the best performances ever at Indy.”

Hermann acknowledged that Independence will lose some of its top runners for next year, but he remained optimistic that the program still has a “strong core of returning runners.” He is also expecting some promising younger runners for the next season.
