MONDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Cafeteria (Latraille; 8/21- 9/16)

Applications for free and reduced priced meals must be filled out each school year. Accounts from last year will expire on 9/16/19. Applications can take up to 10 days to process so renew your account now.

Blood Drive (STUCO; 9/3- 9/10)

Want to save a life? IHS’s Fall Blood Drive will be Sept 13th.  To sign-up please pick up a minor donation form in the mall area or from any STUCO member. If you return your form on or before Sept 10th, you can pick up a donut during both lunches on Sept 10th—but only if you sign up.

Attendance (Kelly 9/5- 9/18)

Guest Forms are now available in the Attendance Office, they are due back by Friday, September 20th, By NOON.  NO EXCEPTIONS

CHEMISTRY CLUB MEETING (KLEISSLE; 9/9)

Hey Patriots- Calling all atoms and molecules!  There is going to be a Chemistry Club Meeting Today – Monday,  September 9th in Room 111 at 2:45 pm for officer elections and to make plans for the semester. All aspiring scientists welcome!!!

Shane’s Rib Shack (Marshall; 9/9)

Everybody loves  Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you’re their tasty barbeque. You will have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips for $5.00.

Wrestling (Cumpton; 9/6- 9/9)

Hey Patriots, are you thinking about doing a sport next season, or you’re looking to get in better shape over the winter?  If so, wrestling just might be the sport for you! If you are all at interested, there will be an informative meeting on Tuesday the 10th at 3:00 in Mr. Cumpton’s room, R7.  Also, remember ladies, that this will be the first year of having our very own girls wrestling team! Help make history by joining the team!

Speech and Debate (Mandile; 9/6- 9/9)

Speech and debate will now be meeting on Mondays. We will be meeting this Monday, 9/9 to discuss upcoming activities and choose debating events. New members are still welcome. See you Monday at 2:45 in R-24

Volleyball (Monaghan; 9/9)

Congratulations to the Lady Patriots Volleyball team.  This weekend they traveled to Lake Havasu for a tournament and took 4th place out of 12 teams.  The ladies played hard and had a great weekend of play.  Alejandra Ramirez was chosen by the Referees as the all-tournament player.  Great job Alejandra.  The ladies are off to a great start this season. Keep pushing ladies we got this.  

UNITOWN (E. Carreon; 9/9- 9/13)

Patriot Hut (Munoz; 9/9)

Attention patriots, teachers and staff:  The Patriot Hut will open for the school year TOMORROW.  You’ll find the service window at the bottom of the hill by the music note.  Hours this year will be BOTH  lunches and after school from 2:40-3:00pm.  They are closed on Mondays, but open Tuesday through Friday. 

DECA is excited to bring back all your favorites like pizza and macaroni and cheese, flamin’ hot Cheetos and Arizona Iced Tea.  They’re also introducing several new foods, as well as school supplies this year. 

We’ll be there; will you?

Attention all Empowerment Club members! There will be a meeting Wednesday before school and after school at in the Media Center! Hope to see you there and snacks will be provided.

Pomline tryouts are this Wednesday, Sept. 11th and Thursday, Sept. 12th.  You must be present both days to be eligible and must have an out of season form, even if you are already cleared for a different sport. You will not be able to try out without the out of season form. See Mrs. Montoya in the dance room for questions.

Highlighted Artist (Cramer; 9/10)

Maria Ramos is a 3rd year 3-D Design student. Maria’s influences on many of her sculptures comes from her love of barrel racing and horses. As a 3rd year student Maria will continue to develop her artistic voice and she moving into working more abstractly. Congratulations

Maria on being Independence’s Artist of the Month, we cannot wait to see what you create next!

First Photo Club Meeting (Kerr; 9/13- 9/16)

Photo Club will have its first meeting after school this Monday, September 16th. If you’re interested in checking out photo club this year, no commitment or experience needed, join us in Mr. Kerr’s room at 2:45. That’s room #207 upstairs in the science building.

Swim and Dive (Hallum; 9/13)

The swim and dive team put forth an impressive performance yesterday against Metro Tech academy and Washington High School.  Both teams improved their records to three and one with the girl’s team winning eight out of eleven events and the boys team winning eight out of twelve.  Great Job Patriots.  Next up Indy travels to Ironwood to take on the Eagles and Deer Valley.  Come out and support your patriots next Thursday, meet starts at 4:00.
