MONDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS 

CHEMISTRY CLUB MEETING (KLEISSLE; 9/19- 9/23)

Hey Patriots – the chemistry club meets periodically! The next meeting is Monday, September 23rd at 2:45 pm in Mrs. Kleissle’s  Room 111. We will be discussing elephant’s toothpaste and other important matters!  See you there!!

Shane’s Rib Shack (Marshall; 9/23)

Everybody loves  Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you’re their tasty barbeque. You will have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips for $5.00.

Media Center (Ehrick; 9/23- 9/26)

Attention All Patriots,

Do you want to gain access to free books, movies, and music! Well, mark your calendars for this Friday, September 27th. The I.H.S. media center will be hosting a Glendale Public Library Card Drive on Friday from 8:00-3:30 PM. Come to the media center and you can sign up for a public library card. We just need your ID or license, and please know your current address.

Media Center (Ehrick; 9/23- 9/26)

Attention All Patriots,

Theatre Club (Farson; 9/24)

Attention theatre club and haunted house members: there will be a meeting after school on Wednesday 9/25 at 2:45 in the PAC. We will discuss costumes and other haunted house details. Please plan to attend.

Drivers Ed (9/24- 9/27)

The Driver's Ed instructor will be out for this week. Driver's Ed will be cancelled for this week and will meet again starting next week. Thank you!

Empowerment Club  (Ehrick, Frazen; 9/24)

Attention all Empowerment Club members! There will be a meeting Wednesday before school and after school at in the Media Center! Hope to see you there and snacks will be provided.

Choir Concert (Merrill; 9/24)

Tonight is the Fall Choir Concert at 7 PM in the PAC. Concert is free to all. Please come support our singing students in their first concert of the year. Again that’s 7 PM in the PAC. See you there!

Patriot Hut (Munoz; 9/24)

Patriots – DECA members are attending the Arizona Fall Leadership Conference today, so the Patriot Hut will not be open AFTER SCHOOL TODAY.  It will, however, be open for BOTH LUNCHES; so stop by and grab some BUFFALO BITES, PIZZA, Mac N Cheese or a Chicken Wrap for lunch!

FBLA (Tracy; 9/24)

Need an energy boost before school starts?  You’re in luck!  On late start Wednesdays, FBLA has coffee, tea and muffins to start your day.  You can find them at the Patriot Hut from 8:10am-8:45am.  Get a hot or iced coffee for just $1.50 and a blueberry or banana muffin for the low, low price of $1.00!

Young Environmentalist’s Club (Bolton, Kieu; 9/26)

The Young Environmentalist’s Club would like to invite YOU to come on out and join us TODAY after school at 2:45 pm in Room G-11, Ms. Kieu’s classroom and join current Young Environmentalist’s and Jr. ROTC in getting community service credit while helping the Patriot Nation Environment in Recycling.Also, please “Save-the-Date” of NEXT Thursday, October 3rd as Y.E.C. & ROTC will be once again “adopting” 75th Avenue between Bethany Home Road & Glendale Avenue right after school to clean it up just before Fall Break, so join us for this fun-filled community service!

Soccer (Monaghan; 9/27)

All girls interested in playing Soccer there will be a meeting TODAY at 2:45 in Room 211.  Please make sure you attend this meeting.  Again, all girls interested in playing soccer be in room 211 after school Friday.  

Chess Team (Bolton; 9/27)

The Independence Chess team prepares to complete their “Quest” to qualify for the “State Chess Tournament” for the 3rd straight year THIS Friday & Saturday at Alhambra HS. Indy Chess has a 3-3 overall record heading into the final 5 rounds.  Led by senior captains Ethan Amaya and Kevin Romero, and joined by other top varsity players, Ian Amaya, Ricardo Molina, Armando Sanchez, and David Vo.  All players will meet in room B-24 at 2:45 pm today. Rise up Patriot Chess!

Shane’s Rib Shack (Marshall; 9/27)

Volleyball (Monaghan; 9/27)

The ladies Patriots Volleyball team played a tough match last night. They took Willow Canyon to 5 sets but come up short in the end. Great work ladies keep fighting. 

Swim and Dive (Hallum; 9/27)

Senior swimmers Breezia Medina, Briana Gonzalez and Victor Rojas, led the swim and dive team to wins against both Bourgade and Glendale yesterday.  

Impressive performances by rookies Alexis Pina, Maria Artalejo Soto Sabina Cantu and Celeste Cortez added to the effort as the girls team improved their overall record to 5 and 3.   

The boys team improved their record to 6 and 2 as rookies Raymundo Cruz, Aidan Gradillos, August Htoo, Mohammed Janabi and Kenneth Scott all added strong contributions to the effort.
