  MONDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

 

 

BOOKSTORE (Holt; 5/6)

Seniors – On Monday, April 29th you will be receiving your Senior Cards.  The cards need to be signed off by all of your teachers.

1st Stop will be the Career Center.

2nd Stop is the Cafeteria Before or After School ONLY to clear all fines, then your account will be closed for charges. 

3rd Stop is to the Media center.

LAST STOP is the Bookstore, where you bring in your books, pay any outstanding fines, and turn in your card, if you DO NOT complete the process you will not walk in graduation.

This is all done before you can receive your Cap N Gown and Graduation Tickets on May 21st at Practice Graduation. 

Drivers Ed (St. Pierre; 5/6)

The 5th and final session this school year for Driver's Ed starts Tuesday May 28th at 8AM to Noon. Cost is $210 dollars. You need a valid driver’s license, permit and student ID. You need to register at the Moon Valley bookstore by May23. 

Freshman Class (Hodgkins; 5/6)

Join Independence High Schools Freshman class of student council for a fundraiser night at Culver’s. TODAY May 6, 2019 on 99th Ave and Camelback from 5pm to 9pm.

Girls Soccer (Monaghan; 5/6)

Girl soccer players please stop by Ms. Monaghan’s room to pick up banquet information.

Swim and Dive (Hallum; 5/2- 5/6)

Attention Patriots.  Did you know that swimming is a low impact, complete body workout?  What does that mean? You can tone and strengthen all your muscle groups with a minimum risk of injury.  Did you also know that the swim and dive team is currently holding open swim sessions where you can learn safe and proper techniques to maximize the benefits of such workouts?  Open swim is every Tuesday and Thursday, from 3:00 until 4:30.  This opportunity is open to all Independence students, so stop by coach Hallum's room, R-25 for information.   

STUCO (Marshall; 5/6)

Everybody love Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you their tasty barbeque. You have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips with chips for $5.00.

Media Center (Ehrick; 5/6)

Theatre Club members: We will be having a meeting on Thursday, 5/9/19 at 2:45pm in Ms. Farsons room. If you want to perform at dinner theatre, you need to be at this meeting to perform your piece. Additionally, club members MUST have their dinner theatre tickets purchased by Thursday at the latest. No tickets will be sold at the door. See you there.

Elevate I.H.S. (Bolton, Foster, Pace; 5/8)

Elevate will meet after school as usual at 2:45 in the Mini-auditorium for anyone that wants to join us for fellowship, food, and fun times.  ALL current Elevate I.H.S. Student Art Show  (Cramer- 5/9)

Attention Patriots.  Tomorrow is the Student Art Show on display all day in the mall area. Please be mindful of your surroundings…

No touching the art work - touch with your eyes and not your hands.

No vandalism on the art work

No Running, Yelling or Pushing other students.

Your Best behavior is expected!

*Your peers have worked EXTREMELY hard this year to produce the best work possible.  BE MINDFUL OF YOUR COMMENTS. If you feel you can do better, please take an art class.

Teachers are asked to accompany their students to help maintain order during the show. Backpacks should be left in the classroom if possible. Extra judge forms will be available if you wish to have your students vote for award winners.

Badminton (Barton; 5/9- 5/15)

Lady Patriots interested in playing badminton next year, there will be a short informational meeting this coming Wednesday about how to get cleared and what you need for next year. Try something new, and come check out badminton.

 Young Environmentalist’s Club (Bolton, Kieu; 5/9)

The Young Environmentalist’s Club and Jr. ROTC Community Service will meet in Ms. Kieu’s Room G-11 TODAY after school at 2:45 pm. Please come out and join all of the Young Environmentalist’s and Jr. ROTC in getting some very easy community service hours while helping the Patriot Nation Environment in Recycling.

Frazen (P3 Stretch/Golden Rule Award; 5/10)

For several years, P3 has presented the Student & Teacher Awards at the end of the year.  The Stretch Award recognizes students who have shown growth over the year(s) in areas of: attendance, academics and attitude.

The 2019 Stretch Award Recipients are:

On Tues, May 21st  Alberto, Shirmara, Hassiel and their choice of guest will be chauffeured in a STRETCH limousine to Chase Field to have lunch at Fridays Front Row Grill courtesy of P3.  Thank you for all the hard work you put in to make positive changes and be a true Patriot!

P3 also recognizes a teacher who has gone out of her way to make a difference at I.H.S.

There will be a mandatory meeting this Friday, May 10th, in the Mini Auditorium at 7:15 a.m. or 2:45 p.m. All members including inductees are expected to show up.
