MATT O. HANHILA Sportsmanship AwardThe Arizona Football Officials Association recently announced that Independence High School and Coach Maldonado have been selected to receive the MATT O. HANHILA Sportsmanship Award at the Division III Level for 2013 season. 

This prestigious award is earned for the school by the Coaches and Players of the Varsity Football Team by their conduct on the field of play and the sportsmanship they display.

The AzFOA has a long-standing tradition of recognizing that school that has embodied the highest caliber of sportsmanship consistently displayed through out the football season.
This award has been presented annually since the 1993. The purpose of the award is to promote integrity and sportsmanship in the game of football.
Each year, one school from each conference who displays exemplary sportsmanship is presented with the award.  Congratulations, Coach Maldonado.
