Independence High School Photography classes have been all digital since Fall of 2006, when we moved from the main building to a classroom adjacent to the school's computer lab in the new Media Center building. We are fortunate to have outstanding adminstrative support in aquisition of our new facility, equipment and state of the art software to support this major change in Photography curriculum. We are presently one of two schools (out of six offering Photography in the Glendale Union High School District) that offer a totally digital Photography experience to our students. In addition to being more environmentally friendly, we feel digital photography will be far more relevant to the way students make photographic images now and in the future. Since most students are already using their own digital cameras the information on camera technique, image manipulation in Photoshop and digital printing that they learn at I.H.S. directly transfer to their life.
