Hello My Name Is...
Christina Escamilla

Welcome to my webpage! I am a Chicago native, Hoosier grad, and have been a proud Patriot for 7 years. I graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Social Studies Education. I then started a Master's Program by teaching in Australia. I enjoy traveling and learning more about the world to better inform my World History students.
In my time here at IHS, I have coached the swim team, been the student council sponsor, assisted the cheerleading squad, and went to PrideTown. I also sponsored the Close-up Trip to Washington, D.C. for four years. Just last December, I completed my Master's in Bilingual Education and will continue taking Spanish courses through ASU. One of my personal goals is to become bilingual!
For the past few semsters I have had student teachers in the classrom. I enjoy mentoring other teachers that are persuing a career in education. This year, I continue to teach two World History Classes first and second hour and then I am the local mentor at Independence.
Please feel free to contact me by email or phone. It is an absolute pleasure working with the students and staff here at Independence and I welcome parent and community communication at anytime!
