As the librarian at Independence, I encourage reading - of course! My goal is to put books in students' hands that they will read and enjoy. Just like practicing piano to improve, students who read more and often will improve.

Another large part of my job is assisting students with research. I do my best to provide them with a variety of research tools that will help them find success in the research process. Once I teach them those tools, I am always available to support them.

The Independence Media Center is a place for students to read, study, complete work and get help. We have a large number of computers and plenty of other resources available.
