In 1994, Independence started a Renaissance program that is called Patriot Pride Program Club, thus P3. Since then we have honored more the 13,000 students, recognizing academic excellence. P3 seeks to honor students, faculty and staff for jobs well done.
Twice a year P3 brings together students with good conduct who have earned all "A's," "A's" and "B's", "C's" or better, and perfect attendance students for a celebration. They feast on doughnuts and juice while receiving T shirts, pins, coupons and door prizes. This is a happy and rowdy celebration assembly!
Various groups of faculty and staff are recognized by the SANE award. This is P3's way of saying "Thank you" for their service to IHS.
At year's end, P3 honors an outstanding teacher whom students select for their Golden Rule Award. Students are honored by the Stretch Award. Teacher-selected winners get a stretch limo ride to lunch at Front Row Friday's at Bank One Ballpark.
The P3 team is make up of students, faculty, administrators, and staff. More members and new ideas are always welcome.
