friends and guests. Please plan accordingly.
Graduation Information for Students and Parents
Now is the time to clear any debt you have with the bookstore. If you have a debt, you will not participate in the graduation ceremony. Graduating students will attend graduation practice at 8:30 am on Wednesday, May 29th in the competition gym. If you do not attend graduation practice, you will not walk in the graduation ceremony. Graduates will pick up caps and gowns as soon as graduation practice is finished on the morning of May 29th. Please unpack your gown to release the wrinkles but use a COOL iron. Do not write on or modify your cap. Graduates will pick up graduation tickets on the morning of graduation practice. There will be ten tickets per graduate. Graduates will meet no later than 3:00 pm, at the Grand Canyon Arena, for the graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 29th.
Dress requirements for graduating students: Men will wear a white, button-down shirt with a necktie. Short or long sleeves are acceptable. Dark colored pants or slacks (black, blue, brown, gray). Dress shoes. (No sneakers, tennis shoes, athletic shoes, skate shoes, flip-flops…) No jeans. No cell phones. Women will wear a dark colored dress or pants-suit (business casual). Dress shoes. (No sneakers, tennis shoes, athletic shoes, skate shoes, flip-flops…) No jeans. No purses will be carried into the ceremony. No cell phones.Graduates are to arrive with your cap and gown in hand, not on. We will help you with your caps and gowns once you arrive. Parents should arrive between 3:00 and 3:45 pm. There will be personnel directing traffic for your convenience. Graduation will begin at 4:00 pm in the Grand Canyon University Arena at 33rd Avenue and Camelback.
Noise makers, balloons or signs will not be allowed into the arena.
This is an extremely proud time for all graduates and their families. Let’s make sure we remember that this evening belongs to the class of 2013 and treat it with all the class, pride and dignity it deserves.
